The Compliance Engineer reports to the EDC Commercial refrigeration supervisor and is involved in the development of commercial refrigeration units, addressing the design and product specifications in order to comply legal requirements. Being directly involved in the design of Commercial refrigeration units, he deals with safety (MD, PED, EMC, RED, etc.), environmental (RoHS, REACH, Packaging, etc.) and IP (Patents, infringement of Intellectual property, etc.) product compliance.
The main activities are:
• studying the regulatory framework for both Europe and extra-UE markets
• defining product legal and safety requirements
• selecting technical standard in order to comply to regulations and directives
• co-operating and contributing to EMEA compliance work with other EDCs
• performing safety audits on pre-production trial units
• following certification processes for UL and other marks with Third Parties
• constantly looking for updates about legislation
• preparing compliance checklists for existing and new products
• following the design team during the preparation of the technical construction file
• defining necessary tests to check product compliance
• searching and applying for patents
Education
• Master’s Degree in Engineering (preferred are Mechanical, Aerospace, Electronical, Electrical)
• Minimum B2 Knowledge of both spoken and written English

• Good knowledge of some of the followings: Machinery Directive, EMC, Low Voltage Directive, PED, EcoDesign, RED
• Experience in defining product legal and safety requirements
