The Laboratory is responsible for the quality judgement of newly developed products. Our products need detailed verification, in order to validate their performance and reliability towards the wide application and operation area. During the development process, before mass production and launched in the market, the validation of product reliability is proven by testing and evaluation of prototypes.

The Development Quality Supervisor coordinates the activities of all the laboratory team in verifying stationary and mobile refrigeration systems functionality:

  • defining, planning and controlling laboratory equipment and procedures to meet ISO 9001 & Zanotti requirements, including instrumentation, data acquisition, calibration and certification
  • supervising tests on refrigeration units according to test specifications and standards and in alignment with test project requirements
  • analyzing data and contributing in interpretation and reporting
  • ensuring all applicable safety standards and procedures within the laboratory (Environmental, Safety…)
  • coordinating contractors for laboratory maintenance and improvement
  • scheduling activities, employees’ management and coordination
  • tracking testing part of projects in alignment with EDC colleagues, handling multiple projects with different scopes and requirements at the same time
  • working with Purchasing for procurement of laboratory equipment within the assigned budget and product road map
  • planning and conducting external laboratory tests of refrigerators according to standards/internal specification, cooperating with external service providers and laboratories

Among the other functions, related to EDC and compliance issues:

  • cooperating with other Daikin development centers to exchange information/align about regulations, standards, specifications, laboratory equipment, test devices and procedures
  • contributing to conception and development of parts, assemblies and unit so that they are compliant to applicable standards and project requirements
  • contributing to product analysis/benchmarking/reengineering
  • attending internal and external alignment meetings
  • attending technical meetings as required

 

Education

• Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Energy Engineering
• Knowledge of both spoken and written English

 

Key Selection Criteria

Technical skills

• an important experience in testing or development of refrigeration or air conditioning systems
• a previous experience in data acquisition softwares such as LabView, TRNSYS, Matlab
• a solid knowledge about all the key technical aspects concerning refrigeration (fundamentals of HVAC&R, refrigerant two-phase flows, compressors and expansion devices technologies), electrical/electronic circuits and diagrams, Design of Experiments concepts

Soft Skills

• passionate about energy conversion systems
• capability to work with tight timescales and under pressure
• detailed oriented and capable to present timely and constructive feedback
• experience in managing a team of both lab engineers and technicians
• capability to work in a structured way, following procedures and providing reports on the ongoing project
